In this role, you will embed directly with our most strategic clients - particularly in the financial services sector - to understand their toughest technical challenges and help them design and implement world-class solutions using our platform. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with direct influence on product direction.You are equally comfortable whiteboarding microservices architecture with a client's principal engineer, running a hands-on technical workshop for a team of developers, and standing up a compelling proof-of-concept in days. You thrive in fast-moving, high-stakes environments and know how to earn the trust of deeply technical stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Engagement & Technical AdvisoryServe as the primary technical point of contact for strategic client accounts, building deep relationships with architects, engineers, and technical leadersLead discovery sessions to understand client architectures, pain points, and business objectivesTranslate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiencesSolution Design & ArchitectureCollaborate with client architects and internal engineering teams to design scalable, production-ready solutionsProvide authoritative guidance on microservices architecture, event-driven systems, and cloud-native deployment patternsReview and advise on client system designs, identifying risks and recommending best practicesProof of Concepts & DemosRapidly prototype and build POCs that demonstrate platform value in the context of a client's real-world use casesOwn and deliver polished, technically rigorous demos tailored to the client's specific technology stack and business domainMaintain a library of reusable demo assets and reference implementationsWorkshops & EnablementDesign and facilitate deep-dive technical workshops, hackathons, and onboarding bootcamps for client engineering teamsProduce high-quality technical documentation, runbooks, and integration guidesAccelerate client time-to-value by enabling their teams to build confidently and independentlyFeedback & Internal Collaboration* Act as the voice of the customer - surface product gaps, integration friction, and feature requests to internal product and engineering teams* Partner with Sales, Solutions Architecture, and Product to shape the technical go-to-market strategyThe successful candidate will possessCore Technical SkillsDeep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, including building production-grade microservicesStrong understanding of event-driven architecture - Kafka, event sourcing, CQRS, async messaging patternsHands-on experience with microservices design principles: service decomposition, API design, resiliency patterns, observabilityProficiency across multi-cloud environments, with AWS as a primary platform; working knowledge of Azure and GCPFamiliarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)Emerging TechnologyExposure to Agentic AI frameworks and tooling - including LangGraph, LangChain, or similar orchestration frameworksPractical understanding of LLM integration patterns, prompt engineering, and AI-powered application designInterest in staying current with the rapidly evolving AI/ML landscape and translating it into client-relevant use casesSoft Skills & PresenceExceptional communicator - able to lead technical conversations with senior engineers and C-suite stakeholders alikeStrong facilitation skills for running workshops, design reviews, and working sessionsSelf-directed, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple client engagements simultaneouslyNatural curiosity and a bias for building - you'd rather spin up a demo than write a slide about oneAdditional Key ExperienceExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practicesContributions to open-source projects or public technical content (talks, blogs, repos)Prior experience in a startup or high-growth SaaS environmentRelevant cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional, etc.)Required Qualifications8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant time spent in client-facing, solutions engineering, or field engineering roles; background in financial services (banking, capital markets, payments, insurance, or fintech) strongly preferredBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent field; Advanced Degree is a plus - equivalent work experience may act as a substitute for degree requirementsAbility to travel 20-30%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serveMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the futureThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
