Lifeguard - Community Enrichment

Community Enrichment LifeguardWe are looking to recruit an observant lifeguard to ensure the safety of visitors to our aquatic facility. The lifeguard will explain safety rules to patrons, warn them about unsafe situations, and enforce policies. The Lifeguard will play an instrumental role in maintaining orderliness by inspecting swimming pool areas, locker rooms, restrooms, and monitor and report any concerns. To ensure success you need to assess situations swiftly and make judicious decisions regarding the safety of swimmers. Top candidates are excellent communicators, swift, and safety-minded.Minimal qualifications include a high school degree, CPR/First Aid certification, lifeguard certification, and successful completion of all required online health/safety courses. Experience working in a school setting and with others from diverse backgrounds is preferred. Must meet the guidelines set by the Woodhaven Brownstown School District, which includes drug screening and criminal background checks. Availability required on Fridays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Brownstown Middle School, Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Woodhaven High School, and Sundays from noon to 4:00 p.m. at Woodhaven High School.Major duties and responsibilities include following and maintaining knowledge of all district policies and procedures, ensuring proper cleaning, storage, and maintenance of all equipment and supplies, ensuring appropriate behavior in the pool area, maintaining a safe environment and facilities for student athletes, and professionally representing the school and the district in interactions with students, parents, community, and staff.
