Family Medicine - Minor Injury Clinic
Location
Antioch Medical Center and Walnut Creek Medical Center (Not located in the Emergency Department). The shifts are split evenly between Antioch and Walnut Creek with rare shifts in Dublin (1–2x/month).
Hours of Operation
Seven days a week: 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Weekend and holiday rotations are included in the normal shift schedule.
Position Summary
Board‑Certified Physician in Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine. Physicians must be board‑certified to treat pediatric patients.
The Urgent Care Physician will work collaboratively with advanced practice providers (APPs) when needed, supervise their care, and support their clinical development.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat acute medical conditions and minor injuries efficiently and effectively.
Provide hands‑on care in the following areas:
Minor Injury Clinic Services: fracture/dislocation care, splinting, laceration repair (including pediatric techniques), incision and drainage procedures, foreign body removal.
Eye Care: slit lamp exams, foreign body removal, corneal abrasions, tonometry.
Dermatologic/Nail Care: ingrown toenail/fingernail removal, subungual hematoma, paronychia.
Minor Concussion Care, including follow‑up and clearance exams
Supervise and support APPs when needed in all aspects of patient care.
Provide compassionate, efficient care to ensure timely treatment and positive patient experience.
