Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java / React) | Remote from Portugal
We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team working on large-scale enterprise platforms. Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement scalable, secure, and production-ready software solutions.
Lead technical discussions and contribute to architecture decisions across distributed systems.
Develop and maintain high-quality back-end services and front-end applications.
Mentor and support other engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
Drive engineering excellence by reducing technical debt and improving software quality.
Collaborate closely with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
Promote best engineering practices, including automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
Contribute to the adoption of AI-assisted development practices and the integration of AI capabilities into applications where appropriate.
Required Skills & Experience:
8+ years of experience in software engineering within large-scale enterprise environments.
Strong expertise in Java, including Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
Solid experience designing and developing Microservices and REST APIs.
Strong front-end development experience with React (4+ years), TypeScript, and advanced JavaScript.
Experience working with Kubernetes or Cloud Foundry.
Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, particularly with Jenkins.
Experience with distributed systems, resilience patterns, observability, and cloud-native architectures.
Strong knowledge of Extreme Programming (XP) practices, including TDD, BDD, remote Pair Programming, and code reviews.
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and Selenium/Protractor.
Practical experience using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and refactoring.
Knowledge of LLM integration and AI-powered application development is highly valued.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Strong engineering mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for technical leadership.
