Heavy Equipment Mechanic

South Coast Lumber Co. & Affiliates is seeking a dependable and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. Schedule Swing Wage Range Dependent on qualifications and experience QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of relative training and experience (2-5 Years Preferred) Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL Preferred) Basic welding knowledge (Preferred) Basic computer skills Self-motivated Willing to learn Full attendance ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintain and repair heavy equipment and machinery. Familiar with exhaust systems and emissions control. Operate vehicles and equipment for testing and troubleshooting. Read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Accurately determine necessary parts and supplies need to complete the task at hand. Comply with all safety rules and regulations including proper PPE requirements Perform routine and preventative maintenance. Proper completion of required paperwork. Able to supply own tools. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Able to lift at least 50 pounds. Able to effectively multitask. Able to work in a team environment or without direct supervision. Able and willing to work a flexible schedule consisting of overtime on weekends and/or holidays. Able to work in hazardous conditions including confined/constricted areas, from heights, and in potentially dusty and noisy conditions. Our mills (2) are located within the Brookings, Oregon area. We have a sawmill and veneer plant located on the north side of town while our plywood mill and LVL mill are right in the middle of town. We also have two distribution locations, one in Merlin, Oregon, and the other outside of Eureka, California.
