We are committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences through reliable products and high-quality data across all channels.About The RoleWe are seeking a Product Data Engineer to own and evolve our product data ecosystem, with a focus on Salsify, system integrations, and data governance. This role is responsible for ensuring product data is accurate, scalable, and consistently delivered across internal systems and external channels.This position will play a key role in a product data cleanup and re-architecture initiative, while also supporting ongoing operations and business needs. The ideal candidate brings an API-first mindset, experience with event-driven or automated pipelines, and a strong focus on data quality SLAs and KPIs.What You’ll DoProduct Data Platform OwnershipServe as the primary owner and administrator of the PIM platform (Salsify)Design and manage product data models, attributes, hierarchies, and relationshipsBuild and maintain formulas, validation rules, and workflows to enforce business logic and data qualityManage user roles, permissions, and platform governanceTroubleshoot and resolve system issues, including imports, exports, and publishing errorsIntegrations & AutomationOwn and manage integrations between Salsify and internal/external systems (e.g., Shopify and other platforms)Design and support API-based data flows with an emphasis on scalability and reliabilityDevelop and maintain automation solutions using APIs and scripting (Python preferred)Build and support event-driven or automated pipelines to reduce manual interventionMonitor integration performance and proactively resolve failuresProduct Data EvolutionSupport and help lead a product data cleanup and re-architecture initiativeIdentify gaps in current data models, workflows, and processes and implement improvementsPartner with cross-functional teams to define scalable data structures and standardsImprove system design to support long-term business growthChannel SyndicationManage and optimize product data syndication to eCommerce and retail channelsEnsure data meets channel-specific requirements and publishing standardsTroubleshoot syndication issues and improve publishing success ratesSupport product launches and updates across channelsData Governance & QualityEstablish and enforce data governance standards, naming conventions, and validation rulesDefine and monitor data quality SLAs and KPIs (e.g., completeness, accuracy, timeliness)Support or leverage data governance tools (e.g., OpenMetadata or similar platforms)Partner with business teams to improve data quality and accountabilityReporting & MetricsDevelop and maintain reporting on data quality, system performance, and syndication outcomesBuild dashboards and metrics for stakeholders and leadershipProvide insights and recommendations to improve processes, data quality, and system performanceOperational SupportSupport day-to-day system usage, enhancements, and issue resolutionManage and prioritize incoming tickets and requests from the businessEnsure stability and reliability of product data operationsWhat You Bring3+ years of experience in product data management, system administration, or PIM platformsExperience owning or heavily supporting a PIM system (Salsify or similar)Strong experience with REST APIs and JSONExperience building workflows, automations, and data validation logicExperience with eCommerce platforms (such as Shopify)Familiarity with API-first design and automated or event-driven data pipelinesStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsAbility to work cross-functionally with both technical and business stakeholdersNice to HaveExperience with Python or similar scripting languagesExperience with ERP systems (such as Infor LN)Experience with data governance tools (e.g., OpenMetadata, Collibra, Alation, or similar)Experience building reporting and dashboards (BI tools or platform-native reporting)What Sets You ApartStrong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracySystems thinking and ability to understand upstream and downstream impactsExperience supporting leadership reporting and decision-making through dataProactive mindset toward automation, scalability, and continuous improvementWhy Join UsAt Hunter Fan Company, you’ll take ownership of a critical product data ecosystem and play a key role in transforming how data flows across systems and channels.
