Accountant
Our client is looking to hire a Senior Revenue Accountant to support their digital and direct-to-consumer (DTC) business, with a strong focus on subscription revenue and revenue recognition. This is a highly visible role working cross-functionally with finance, tax, auditors, and operations teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.This role is hybrid (onsite Wednesdays) through September 2026, then transitions to 5 days onsite.San Francisco, CA Contract | 40 hrs/week - 9-month initial contract What You’ll Be DoingOwn month-end close activities related to revenue recognition (journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis)Build and maintain subscription revenue waterfalls in Excel for amortization and reportingPartner with cash teams to reconcile credit cards, payments, and cash activitySupport sales tax reporting and collaborate with internal tax teamsWork directly with external auditors and support SOX/internal audit requestsAnalyze revenue trends and provide insights to business and sales teamsAssist with system migrations, workflow automation, and process improvementsWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance5+ years of accounting experience (must be true accounting—not just AP/AR or tax)Strong experience with revenue recognition (subscription-based preferred)Oracle or other major ERP system experienceIntermediate to advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, building schedules)Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and analytical mindsetNice to HaveExperience in streaming, subscription, or advertising/media industriesFamiliarity with Recurly, Salesforce, Operative One, or similar toolsExposure to payment gateways, banking systems, or cash reconciliationsKnowledge of sales tax compliance or indirect tax processesExperience with foreign currency transactions
