This role is highly hands-on and primarily operates a forklift to move, stage, and organize material while ensuring the packing team maintains consistent output. The Packing Lead also supports the production team by assisting with material movement to and from the aging ovens to maintain continuous production flow. The role monitors packing productivity, coordinates workflow, and ensures finished material is properly staged for shipment.Key Tasks and ResponsibilitiesOperate a forklift to move, stage, and organize finished material within the packing and shipping areas.Support the production team by assisting with material movement to and from aging ovens to maintain proper production flow.Oversee the daily activities of the packing team, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to company procedures.Monitor packing team output and ensure material is processed in a timely manner to support shipping schedules.Coordinate the flow of material between production, aging ovens, packing, and shipping to prevent bottlenecks or delays.Ensure finished material is properly staged and organized for shipment.Support the Logistics Lead by communicating packing progress, delays, or operational issues.Assist packing team members when needed while maintaining oversight of workflow and productivity.Ensure packaging materials and supplies are available and organized to support efficient packing operations.Train packing team members on proper handling, packaging practices, and safe material movement.Maintain organization and cleanliness in the packing area to support safe and efficient operations.Identify issues related to material handling, packing quality, or workflow and escalate concerns to the Logistics Lead when necessary.Promote teamwork and maintain clear communication within the packing team.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent Experience.Forklift experience required.Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or packing operations preferred.Ability to coordinate team activities while maintaining hands-on operational responsibilities.Strong communication and organizational skills.Ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced production environment.Physical RequirementsFrequent forklift operation throughout the shift.Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when assisting with packing activities.This represents the employer's good faith estimate of the base pay range at the time of posting.
