RESEARCH SCIENTIST SUPERVISOR I

Position OverviewThis position supports the California Department of Public Health's mission by ensuring federal protocols and state procedures related to data security and confidentiality are followed by Data Management Unit staff. The Research Scientist Supervisor I directs regular data quality control procedures, including data workflow diagram development, matching and geocoding, HIV lab and adult case report form imports into the Office of AIDS surveillance system, and dissemination of data and quality assurance reports.ResponsibilitiesDirect processing, cleaning, management, and quality improvement of HIV/AIDS case surveillance data.Coordinate with the Surveillance Section Chief, Quality Management Unit, Data Analysis and Matching Unit, and other surveillance staff to support data management and QA activities.Ensure compliance with CDC guidelines and federal and state protocols for data security and confidentiality.Develop, test, and maintain electronic systems used by the Surveillance Section.Minimum QualificationsExperience in data quality control, database management, or related field.Knowledge of HIV/AIDS surveillance data and CDC guidelines.Ability to develop data workflow diagrams and perform matching and geocoding.Experience coordinating with multiple units and stakeholders.BenefitsBenefit information can be found on the CalHR website and the CalPERS website.EEO StatementThe State of California is an equal opportunity employer to all, regardless of age, ancestry, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, military or veteran status, national origin, political affiliation, race, religious creed, sex, and sexual orientation.EEO ContactEEO Office(916) 445-0938CivilRights@Cdph.CA.govJ-18808-Ljbffr
