Heavy Truck Mechanic

Position Objective:To perform skilled machine maintenance work on trucks and equipment and also performing manual work such as moving equipment, tools, and materials.Mechanic:$22-$25-depending on Exp. Willing to TrainJob Responsibilities:• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems (including electrical schematic) must be able to repair and troubleshoot• Repair and troubleshoot class 8 and class 7 trucks along with the Vacuum Module System• Experience with welding, cutting and fabricating• Complete annual inspections on trucks and trailers. Proficient with computer systems diagnostic equipment• Perform preventative maintenance on vacuum trucks, tractors and trailers• Perform new truck inspection and run ups in addition will also handle the sale truck inspection run ups• Routine oiling and greasing of maintenance shop equipment. Will keep work area clean and assist with shop• Program engine computers, Cummins, Detroit, Paccar• Proficient with computer systems diagnostic equipmentAbility to train customers on all equipmentOperate all types of testing devices and shop equipment• Assist in teaching employee's when required, will also train customers on all equipmentPerform other related duties as assignedRequirements:• High School Graduate or equivalent• Manual dexterity skills• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more infrequently• Five years' experience on Class 7/8 trucks or 3 years' experience repairing vacuum modules or two year degree in automotive/diesel technology and one year vacuum module experience or other industrial equipment• Must have complete set of hand tools• Some supervisory ability• Will stand, stoop, crouch, bend and climb short ladders repeatedly throughout the day• Experience with machinery and equipmentThe Way We Work:• Work and accept responsibility to search for, create and execute new and innovative approaches to improve the performance of JDC's services and objectives• Assist external and internal customers to serve their needs and take responsibility for continuously improving customer service• Foster meaningful interaction among people through the exchange of information to produce understanding• Continuously develop and use effective strategies and interpersonal styles to engage and guide others towards the accomplishment of identified objectives and goals in the best interest of the JDC and its customers• Consistently work toward the common good of the organization and encourage others to do the same
