Senior Accountant

We are a small, focused team where every person has direct impact — united by a shared commitment to care deeply, create boldly, and never stop learning.We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team and play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations and building scalable processes. This is a hands-on role with strong exposure to leadership, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced biotech environment and enjoys both execution and process improvement. You’ll work closely with the Controller and broader finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting while helping to establish best-in-class accounting practices.Reports to: SVP, FinanceLocation: Remote (U.S.)Responsibilities:Support and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesPrepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedulesMaintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy across accountsAssist in preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statementsSupport internal reporting packages for leadershipHelp ensure completeness and accuracy of financial dataSupport accounting for:Prepaids, accruals, and fixed assetsClinical trial accruals and R&D expensesTake full ownership of the accounts payable cycle – from processing to compliance and reconciliationAssist with implementation and documentation of accounting policies and proceduresSupport external audits and coordinate with auditorsAssist in maintaining internal controls and documentationContribute to building SOX-ready processes as the company scalesIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in accounting workflowsSupport implementation or optimization of accounting systems and toolsHelp document and standardize processes across the teamRequirements:3–6+ years of accounting experienceCombination of public accounting (Big 4 or similar) and/or industry experience preferredExperience in biotech, life sciences, or high-growth startup environments is a plusStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP fundamentalsExperience with month-end close and financial reportingFamiliarity with:Accrual accountingFinancial systems (e.g., NetSuite or similar ERP)Excel (comfortable working with large datasets)Detail-oriented with strong organizational skillsProactive and eager to learn in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionallyComfortable working in a hands-on, evolving startup environmentCompensation Range: $70,000 - $120,000 (actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications and location)Working at FaethBenefits:Competitive salary and equity in a well-funded, clinical-stage biotech100% remote work and flexible scheduleHealth, dental, and vision for you and your dependentsFlexible time offGenerous parental leaveTraditional and Roth 401k Mission oriented, remote first cultureWe are an equal opportunity employer, and we value diversity at our company.
