Journeyman Meat Cutter

Pay Range:$22.50 *Rates of pay are determined by previous experience and labor contract seniority* The Apprentice Meat Cutter will be responsible for learning and developing knowldege of the meat cutting trade. In addition, providing attentive and friendly customer service. Upon completion of the training program, successful candidates will be responsible for: Receiving, processing, cutting, and trimming meat products Packaging, tying, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and labeling meat products Ensuring proper handling and storing of product Maintaining proper case conditions, including cleaning, stocking, straightening, and rotating product Ensuring proper operation of and temperatures in cooler, prep area, freezer, and cases Tops Markets is looking for candidates to become Apprentice Meat Cutters. Tops Markets offers paid training for associates to learn the skilled trade of meat cutting, including using the tools of the trade, bandsaws, grinders and knives. Must be at least 18 years of age Will be trained and certified to properly cut and grind fresh meat in our store locations Ability to maintain a friendly and courteous manner and promote sales through excellent customer service Basic computer skills Will learn to operate knives, bandsaw, grinder, slicer, and various other meat processing equipment; as well as case cutters, wrapping machine, baler/compactor, and computerized scales Requirements: Successful Meat Cutter candidates must meet the following qualifications: Certified in meat cutting Exceptional customer service skills Excellent communication skills
