Energy Marshal

Safety Worxs is seeking an experienced Energy Marshal / LOTO SME to support high-risk commissioning, startup, and construction activities on mission-critical and industrial projects. This role is responsible for overseeing hazardous energy control programs, enforcing LOTO procedures, managing energized work controls, and supporting safe system energization across active construction and commissioning environments.The ideal candidate has extensive experience in LOTO program ownership, Permit-to-Work (PTW), NFPA 70E compliance, commissioning safety, and multi-trade coordination within complex electrical and mechanical construction environments.Responsibilities:Lead and oversee site-wide Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy isolation programsServe as the primary Energy Marshal during commissioning, startup, turnover, and energization activitiesReview, authorize, and manage Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Energized Electrical Work Permits (EEWP)Enforce NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements and arc-flash protection controlsCoordinate electrical and mechanical isolation boundaries with contractors and subcontractorsSupport commissioning and startup teams during critical-system readiness and live-system workConduct field audits, inspections, and verification of LOTO procedures and energy isolation pointsLead high-risk work planning activities involving energized systems, confined space, and critical infrastructureEnsure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, EM 385-1-1, and project-specific safety standardsSupport incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementationDeliver training related to LOTO, PTW, electrical safety, and hazardous energy controlMaintain accurate documentation for permits, isolation logs, audits, and safety reportingQualifications:10+ years of construction, commissioning, or industrial safety experienceExtensive experience managing LOTO and hazardous energy isolation programsStrong working knowledge of NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.147, and energized electrical work controlsExperience supporting mission-critical, semiconductor, industrial, or data center projects preferredExperience with commissioning, startup, turnover, and critical-system energization activitiesStrong field leadership and contractor coordination skillsAbility to work in fast-paced, high-risk construction environmentsBilingual English/Spanish preferredPreferred Certifications:OSHA CSHO, CHST, CSP, or equivalent safety certificationNFPA 70E TrainingHAZWOPERConfined Space Entry / RescueEM 385-1-1 knowledge preferredBenefits:Full-timeHealthcare benefits paidDental and vision insurance401k at 4% matchPer Diem PackageOngoing projectup to $75/hr.
