Job SummaryThe Director of Engineering is responsible for leading both the Design and Manufacturing Engineering functions in the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of Curry Supplys product lines.This role ensures alignment between product design, Bills of Materials (BOMs), build standards, and shop floor execution to support efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective manufacturing. The Director will provide strategic leadership in engineering operations, process standardization, and ERP (QAD) integration.Essential ResponsibilitiesLeadership & StrategyLead both Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams to meet company goals related to design accuracy, cost, manufacturability, and throughputEstablish and drive engineering standards across product design, BOM structure, and build processesDevelop team capability through performance management, resource planning, and trainingFoster a continuous improvement culture using Lean principles and metrics-driven managementProduct Design & Engineering OutputOversee the development of complete and accurate drawing packages and Bills of Materials (BOMs)Ensure designs meet customer requirements, regulatory standards (e.g., USDOT), and internal quality expectationsDrive design for manufacturability (DFM) to reduce complexity, cost, and build timeMaintain ownership of engineering change management and revision control processesManufacturing Engineering & Shop FlowEstablish and maintain build standards, routings, and standard work across all product linesPartner with Operations to improve shop flow, staging, and production efficiencyEnsure alignment between engineering outputs and actual floor execution, minimizing rework and disruptionLead efforts to define and maintain standard labor hours and process expectationsProcess Standardization & ERP IntegrationOwn the standardization of engineering documentation, workflows, BOM structure, and data integrity in QADEnsure engineering processes fully support production scheduling, material planning, and job trackingLead engineerings role in QAD implementation, optimization, and continuous improvementCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Sales, Production, Supply Chain, and Quality to align priorities and resolve issuesSupport production readiness for new and existing productsAct as the escalation point for engineering-related production challengesAdministrative OversightRecruit, onboard, and develop engineering talentManage departmental budgets, capital expenditures, and resource allocationEnsure compliance with safety, company policies, and regulatory requirementsQualificationsBachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; PE preferred7+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years in leadershipStrong background in manufacturing and fabrication environmentsProficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and engineering change management systemsExperience with ERP systems (QAD preferred)Hands-on knowledge of welding, fabrication, and assembly processesKey CompetenciesLeadership across multi-discipline engineering teamsStrong understanding of BOMs, routings, and build standardsProcess improvement and shop flow optimizationProject management and prioritizationClear communication and cross-functional collaborationCommitment to quality, safety, and operational excellenceCompensation details: 130000-140000 Yearly SalaryPI26e9c2b5f10c-26289-40299108
