Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Outpatient Procedures

Position SummaryThe RCP will be expected to focus in critical care areas, participate in research, lead patient education activities and function as a mentor to the AAS degree RCP's. The RCP IV will have advanced knowledge, critical thinking skills, professional development, and critical care expertise of Respiratory Care procedures. They will be involved in assistingwith case management and the discharge planning processes. They will be called on to function as chronic pulmonary patient navigators.Minimum RequirementsAmerican Heart Association BLS Certification is requiredAssociate Degree or higher in an approved CoARC program for Respiratory CareActive licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board upon hire and is maintained yearlyRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is requiredAmerican Heart Association ACLS is requiredIf working in the Children's hospital you are required to have AHA PALS and NRP in place of the AHA ACLS and you must have completed the NBRC NPS exam by 12 months from your orientation end dateFor non-medical center Respiratory care departments AHA BLS and ACLS are required. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season.
