We are looking for a Welding Team Lead (Day Shift) to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor and based in Newark, DE. This is a fully on-site, in office role.Role and Responsibilities:Responsible for maintaining on-the-floor manufacturing activities while ensuring that they are performed in a safe manner and in accordance with EHS policies and proceduresEnsure that all quality requirements are met and that all team members are adhering to these requirements dailyProvide hands on welding support to manufacturing areas and engineering projectsAnswer technical & welding questions as they arise and aide in maintaining & restoring process flowOracle transactions and IOTs for material movement between plants and processesCycle counts and inventory managementCreate, document, and sustain standardized work practicesTrain and mentor welding team members using a hands-on approach to ensure the team members are able to learn the techniques required to troubleshootReport and attendance, quality, or performance issues to the Manufacturing Supervisor.Responsible for running the welding and assembly team from a process standpoint and communicating issues with the supervisor/manager as required.Create, document, and sustain standardized work practicesIdentify non-value added waste within the manufacturing process and recommend cost effective solutions to eliminate wasteCreate, document, and sustain standardized work practicesAssist in creation of Yamazumi and in production line set upResponsible for all rework components needed for Unishell and Hotbox productionOther duties as assigned.Skills and Experience: High school diploma required, AA degree preferred2-5 years Tungsten inert gas welding and pulse welding experience is requiredStrong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate cross-functionallyDemonstrated leadership skills to motivate and lead teamsProficient computer skills in Microsoft Office SuiteHighly motivated self-starter and team playerMust demonstrate safe work practices and attention to detailFamiliar with lean manufacturing terminology principlesExperience creating standardized workExperience completing station auditsExperience creating Yamazumi and production line set upExperience completing process technician responsibilities preferredAbility to lift up to 45 poundsMust be flexible to work fluctuating schedules if neededPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shiftNavigate the facility throughout the dayOccasionally lift/carry up to 25–50 lbsUse hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shiftVisual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materialsHearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staffAbility to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodationDemonstrates competency in written and verbal English communications to understand safety protocols, hazard communications, and standard operational procedures (SOPs) required to ensure the safety of the employee and others on the manufacturing floor.Bloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
