Electronic Warfare Engineer

Join a company of significance!The Electronic Warfare (EW) Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, testing, and deploying advanced electronic warfare systems and technologies. This position requires expertise in RF (radio frequency) systems, signal processing, and electromagnetic spectrum management to support defense and security operations. The EW Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions that enhance the effectiveness of military operations in contested electromagnetic environments.ResponsibilitiesSystem Design and Development:Perform trade studies, modeling and simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component and system performance and to optimize design around established requirementsDesign and develop electronic warfare systems, including jammers, radar systems, situational awareness and communication systemsDevelop hardware and software architectures to integrate systems and components into higher level systems and platformsAssess EW specific risks and develop a mitigation planSignal ProcessingAnalyze and process RF data to assess threat and communication information in the electromagnetic spectrumDevelop algorithms for signal detection, classification, and countermeasure deploymentDevelop data analysis and presentation methods and tools to provide actionable information to the userTesting And ValidationDevelop test plans, procedures, and reports for system verification and validation including environment and propagation effects.Conduct laboratory and field testing of EW systems to ensure performance and reliabilitySpectrum ManagementAnalyze and manage electromagnetic spectrum usage to optimize system performance in congested and/or contested environmentsEnsure compliance with spectrum regulations and policiesThreat AnalysisAssess emerging threats in electronic warfare, radar systems, communication systems, and unmanned platformsDevelop countermeasure strategies to mitigate threatsCollaboration And IntegrationCollaborate with government agencies and military stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutionsWork closely with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to integrate EW systems into larger platforms (e.g., aircraft, ships, ground vehicles)Documentation And ReportingPrepare technical documentation, including system specifications, design reports, and user manualsPresent findings and recommendations to internal teams and external stakeholdersQualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related fieldExperience3+ years of experience in electronic warfare, RF systems, or related fieldsExperience with EW system design, signal processing, or electromagnetic spectrum analysisTechnical SkillsProficiency in modeling tools for RF engineering and signal processing (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW or similar)Familiar with laboratory tools including oscilloscope, signal and spectrum analyzer, SDR and RF Analyzer SWKnowledge of radar systems, communication systems, directed energy and electronic warfare modulesFamiliarity with high level software programming languages for algorithm developmentSecurity Clearance: Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a security clearanceKey CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and in a team environmentExcellent communication and technical writing skillsAttention to detail and commitment to qualityPreferred Qualifications Master of Science (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering or related science/engineering disciplineKnowledge of military, defense, and national security systemsFamiliarity with DoD standards and regulations (e.g., MIL-STD, FAR/DFARS)Knowledge of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and interference mitigation techniquesExperience with HW/SW/FW developmentProficient in board-to-system level architectureExperienced with VHDL design/synthesis/analysis toolsRelevant certifications (e.g., Certified Electronic Warfare Professional - CEWP) are a plusSpecial RequirementsMust be a US Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigationMust have a Secret clearance or be capable of obtaining an interim Secret clearanceGaN Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
