Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanic role located in Madison, MS. The Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment used within the school district. Duties include troubleshooting mechanical problems, executing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all machinery and vehicles are safe, reliable, and compliant with regulations. The Mechanic will collaborate with team members, maintain detailed service records, and contribute to the efficient operation of transportation and maintenance services. Qualifications Proficiency in Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, and Maintenance & Repair tasksExperience working with Heavy Equipment and ability to handle its upkeep and functionalityStrong Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficientlyKnowledge of safety standards and familiarity with tools and equipment used in mechanical repairsEffective communication skills and ability to work as part of a teamHigh school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in automotive or equipment repair is a plusPrior experience in a similar maintenance or mechanical role is preferredAbility to lift heavy equipment and stand for extended periods
