No other community comes close. Promontory Club is looking to fulfill a vacancy for a Food and Beverage Village Cafe Service Host – Full time Summer Seasonal. The Village Café is the cozy gathering places for all members located in the Ranch Clubhouse. It shares space with a beautiful outdoor heated pool as well as a quiet top-class spa. During winter months, the café serves classic, handcrafted espressos and delicious smoothies. In the summer, lunch foods such as fresh salads, grilled burgers and roasted chicken breast are added to the menu. Our Village Cafe Service Host will meet the Member's food and beverage needs in a friendly and professional manner that is consistent with the highest standards of Promontory Club Restaurants. The summer season will range from Mid-May to Mid-September. This position will have the ability for top performers to continue their employment with Promontory after the summer season and become full-time, permanent employees. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures timely opening and closing of pool and restaurant facilities and conducts opening and closing protocols. Enjoys problem solving and is adept at multiple resolution styles with members and co workers, is sure to conduct all enquiries and resolutions in a friendly and professional manner. Will be directing a staff of 8 or more on a daily basis, so a proven history of team supervision is a must. You will be expected to jump into server position when the need demands, solicit the Member's food and beverage order, making suggestions and explaining choices as needed. Deliver prepared food and beverages to the guest's table, ensuring satisfaction with quality of the meal Maintains a cheerful and friendly disposition with members and co-workers despite the stress of the work environment. Able to interact with members and staff at a professional level Displays and promotes creative ideas with regards to Daily Operations. This is a newly opening location and being able to adapt to new protocols/ training and to devise and implement them is expected. Clean and neat professional appearance and attitude Attention to detail and enforcement of company policies. Assists with hiring and training of pool and café staff. Assists with scheduling of pool and café staff for the Village Café, Village Pool, Adult Lap Pool, and Adventure slide Handle disciplinary actions for staff according to Promontory standards Complete the opening, mid-day, and closing duties checklists. Develop and maintain a friendly relationship with members and guests of the club. Maintain a positive and safe environment for all members, guests, and staff. Observe and patrol pools and enforce safety regulations. Provide excellent service consistent with the Promontory Club standards, operating procedures, and brand attributes. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of pool decks and facilities including straightening and stacking chairs, dispersing clean towels, collecting soiled towels, and collecting trash. Knowledgeable of club facilities and services to answer guest inquiries. Knowledgeable of pool facility as trained by supervisor. Maintain a safe environment at the water slide. Know poolside food service hours of operation and have a familiarity with the menu. Assist café staff by clearing off tables/dropping orders when requested. Keep chairs clear of soiled towels, oils/sunscreens/lotions. Willing to take ownership of all guest requests and complaints, try to resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure the guests satisfaction. Identify and report defects throughout the pool and spa area, notify supervisors and concerned departments immediately of hazards, injuries, equipment or processes that negatively affect the operations. Ensure swimming pool areas are clean at all times and report any maintenance issues to supervisor. Enforce all club rules. Work closely with other departments that are essential to ensuring a positive member/guest experience. Properly utilize performance feedback, recognition, training, and adherence to company policies, legal requirements. Return any lost and found equipment to the Concierge desk. Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management; complete safety training and certifications. Other duties as assigned or as required ensuring the guest has a positive and satisfactory dining experience. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND CERTIFICATIONS : High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; must have or be able to acquire a State of Utah Food Handler's Permit within two weeks of employment; must have a recognized alcohol server training card by the Utah Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control (UDABC); must be at least 21 years of age for serving alcoholic beverages (UDABC). PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Two (2) years of previous experience working as a supervisor in a casual restaurant environment is preferred; a broad background in casual dining is preferred; b asic computer skills and competency in the following Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and POS software (Northstar) is preferred; must have strong communication and organization skills ; must have a high attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment all while maintaining a high level of professionalism. WORKING KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED ON JOB: Abide by Promontory policies and procedures and submit ideas for possible revision; work independently with little supervision; courteous and helpful with Promontory Club Members and employees; must p ractice proper and timely communication. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Must be willing to work various hours, nights, holidays and weekends when needed; must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time; ability to lift 25lbs regularly and the ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally; must be willing to work at any F&B outlet when required. Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Wages start at $18/hr. + tips and will be determined upon employment and will be commensurate with experience.
