Android Application Development & Infrastructure Enhancement for Bright Mind
Project: Remote
Responsibilities
Our organization aims to create a high-performing, scalable, and secure Android mobile application that supports our expanding initiatives, including Street Care and our emerging educational programs. As our outreach continues to grow, we seek a skilled Android Developer to help design, build, and optimize mobile features that connect communities with essential resources.
The volunteer will support the development of advanced Android applications using Kotlin, integrate backend services such as Firebase and MongoDB, and enhance performance, reliability, and responsiveness. This includes collaborating with cross-functional teams to define new features, improve data architecture, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and ensure seamless integration with Google Cloud Platform services.
Through this collaboration, we aim to strengthen our digital infrastructure and deliver an intuitive, reliable mobile experience that serves volunteers, beneficiaries, and community members effectively.
By enhancing our Android mobile application, the volunteer will directly strengthen our ability to connect vulnerable populations with resources, services, and compassionate community support.
Our team has prepared by organizing existing code repositories, technical documentation, backend architecture outlines, and access to Firebase, MongoDB, and Google Cloud resources.
To ensure efficient collaboration, we have established development workflows including version control practices, code review processes, and testing protocols. A designated technical lead will provide onboarding support, clarify requirements, and facilitate communication between development and program teams. Clear milestones and deliverables have been outlined to help guide the project within a flexible volunteer schedule.
Bright Mind is a community wellness education organization. BME was just featured on ABC, CBS, Politico, Newsweek, and many more outlets for our vaccination project and we need more people to join us as we continue to solve urgent social issues!
