Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Trauma

Job Description Our organization is a multispecialty group practice with over 650 providers, currently in search of a full-time Physician Assistant to oversee orthopedic trauma patients in partnership with orthopedic trauma surgeons. This role involves direct clinical management through the application of established protocols and procedures, along with necessary medical consultations. The Physician Assistant will collaborate closely with the Orthopedic Trauma Medical Director and other trauma service members to assess new trauma patients in the Emergency Room, guide hospital staff on patient management, and oversee inpatient orthopedic fracture cases. Additionally, this position will require work in both the operating room and outpatient clinic environments. The schedule entails a full-time rotation that includes responsibilities in the clinic, operating room, inpatient rounds, and PA call coverage. The PA team comprises seven (7) providers, and coverage for group calls may be required, including nights and weekends.The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong assessment capabilities, advanced clinical skills, and effective problem-solving abilities, while embracing a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Applicants must possess a valid controlled substance registration with both the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and the DEA, along with prior surgical and/or critical care experience in a hospital environment.Our medical center serves as the primary provider of advanced, innovative, and interdisciplinary trauma and critical care services. Additionally, we are an ACS verified Level II Trauma Center, handling over 1,250 trauma cases annually, including more than 400 patients with an Injury Severity Score (ISS) greater than 16.
