OverviewDuties include Plan, direct and ensure the effective execution of projects and construction management services on large, complex and high-risk projects. ResponsibilitiesLead a Project Management TeamOrganize, direct, train, and manage a Project Management team ranging in size from 4 to 8 people.Successfully manage and execute 5 to 10 projects simultaneously, ranging in construction value and complexity from $1M to $50+M eachSuccessfully deliver a variety project types (i.e., vertical construction, infrastructure, IT, landscape, etc.) on schedule and within budgetTrack, address and resolve all project issues in a timely mannerReview, negotiate, and process all change order Review and develop ‘design and construction’ contract documents Coordinate budget and schedule information with the Relocation Project Manager regarding FF&E, Asset Disposition/Surplus, and RelocationSuccessfully closeout projects to include DSA closeout and client specific closeout proceduresCollaborate closely across departments from project planning through final completionIdentify project risks and create and implement risk mitigation plansCreate and present project and program information periodically to multiple stakeholder groupsTrack all project status and provides management reports relative to overall progress relative to construction project delivery schedulesTrack status and provides management reports relative to scheduling, cost control, staffing and other related construction contract requirementsReview and inspect construction site offices to assess performance of construction teams and adherence to legal requirementsMonitor, track, address and mitigate construction disputesDirect and assist in outreach efforts to provide information about projectsPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management is required 15 years of experience in Management of multiple construction projects; experience within a large Capital Improvement program and familiarity with relevant Public Codes is required7 years of experience in Educational Facility Construction is preferredPrior experience with Central Utility Plants and Data Centers is highly desired Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and alternative delivery method is preferred Experience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects is preferred Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes or similar is strongly preferredKnowledge and SkillsKnowledge of all parts of the project life cycle, to include master planning, design and closeout is neededLicense and Certifications Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions, is requiredA CA credential from the California Architectural Board or a PE credential for the State of California is preferredA CCD or CMCI credential is preferred Travel RequirementsThis position is project site based embedded at the client campus location in Los Angeles, CA. Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and or construction environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The Company’s salary ranges are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of various factors, including job-related skills, relevant education and experience, abilities of the applicant and equity with other team members. The annual base salary range listed here is subject to change at any time, in the Company’s discretion, and does not alter in any way the at-will nature of the employment relationship.
