This includes but is not limited to the monitoring of all quantifiable measures to gauge status and ensure that objectives are being achieved. This position will provide leadership and direction to support a continuous improvement/problem solving culture through use of the Management Operating System tools.Key Responsibilities:Supervise, develop and guide a staff of Process, Electrical and Mechanical employees and technicians to deliver process and other continuous improvement initiatives across a 24/7 manufacturing organizationConduct process optimization activities to identify opportunities for cost reduction and lead the implementation of method changes to realize these savingsProvide leadership to achieve required results for Productivity, Quality, and Service through understanding and ownership of the Management Operating SystemIdentify coaching opportunities and provide the feedback to influence the behavior change to Direct Reports required to sustain a problem-solving cultureLead project management as necessaryProvide support, guidance and technical leadership to other business functionsEnsure that technology is not a constraint to the manufacturing process and ensure that the company maintains its competitive edge by staying abreast of the latest developments in technology and process developmentDevelop robust plans to cost effectively incorporate state of the art technology/processes into the companyProvide leadership, motivation, training and development for employees Monitor/correct performance of employees in accordance with company policies and proceduresEducation Requirements:Bachelor's of Science Degree in EngineeringMinimum Work Requirements:Authorized to work in the United StatesTen (10) years management experience in an engineering maintenance environment, preferably in a union setting with rotating shiftsHigh speed packaging experience in a fast-paced production environment in a consumer products organizationExperience managing direct reportsExperience in developing highly effective teams and increasing the skill levels of your direct reportsMust possess strong leadership and ownership qualities (e.g. conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision making, and delegation skills)Must have business and administrative knowledge (e.g. budgets, investment proposals, job estimating and scheduling, plant/corporate policies, collective bargaining agreement, etc.)Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)Must have shift flexibility to accommodate a 24/7 manufacturing operationMust be able to work in a manufacturing plant environmentMust be able to respond to urgent or emergency situations outside of normal working hours as neededExperience managing in a union environmentExperience managing in an FDA regulated facilityExperience managing in a high-speed manufacturing settingPhysical Requirements:Daily responsibilities may require working on elevated surfaces, climbing stairs/ladders, kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, lifting to 30 pounds, crawling under equipment, wearing fall protection and required PPEStanding/walking for extended periods of timeSitting for periods of time working in front of a computer screenAt VVF, our people are what make the difference.
