Network Security Engineer (TLS/IPsec, Post-Quantum Cryptography)

We are building a system that upgrades existing communication software with post-quantum cryptography (PQC). The focus is on integrating new quantum-resistant algorithms into TLS 1.3, IPsec/IKEv2, and application-level signatures in a controlled test environment. This is a short-term contract with clear deliverables and an opportunity to gain early experience in PQC deployment.⸻Responsibilities• Configure and test TLS 1.3 connections with post-quantum extensions (OpenSSL, wolfSSL, or equivalent).• Configure and test IPsec/IKEv2 tunnels with hybrid classical + PQ key exchange (strongSwan or equivalent).• Add post-quantum digital signatures to message/file workflows.• Run performance benchmarks (latency, throughput, CPU, memory) comparing classical vs. hybrid vs. PQC.• Document results for use in system modeling and rollout planning.Requirements:• Strong background in TLS, IPsec, IKEv2.• Linux networking and VPN experience.• Hands-on with OpenSSL, wolfSSL, or strongSwan.• Familiarity with or willingness to learn NIST PQC algorithms (ML-KEM, ML-DSA, SLH-DSA).• Ability to deliver working prototypes and performance reports.Engagement:• Contract role (remote acceptable, US persons only).• Duration: ~3–6 months.• Compensation: hourly or fixed-fee depending on scope.
