divh2CNA Position/h2pWe are looking for CNAs to work our 2nd shift 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Only our second shift has a difference of pay rate at $15.00. We also have 1st and 3rd shift available. Sign-on Bonus $2000 offered!/ph3Job Summary:/h3pProvides direct and indirect person centered resident care activities under the direction of an RN or LPN. Assists residents with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group or residents./ph3Duties and Responsibilities:/h3ulliAssists in the preparation for admission of residents./liliAssists in and accompanies residents in the admission, transfer and discharge procedures./liliProvides morning care, which may include bed, bath, shower or whirlpool, oral hygiene, combing hair, back care, dressing residents, changing bed linen, changing over-bed table and bedside stand, straightening room and other general care as necessary throughout the day./liliProvides evening care which includes hands/face washing as needed, oral hygiene, back rubs, peri-care, freshening linen, cleaning over-bed tables, straightening room and other general care as needed./liliNotifies appropriate licensed staff when resident complains of pain or has a change in condition./liliProvides postmortem care and assists in transporting bodies to the morgue as indicated./liliAssists nurse in treatment procedures./liliProvides general nursing care, such as positioning residents, transferring, lifting and turning residents, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in use of bedpan or commode and ambulating the residents./liliPerforms all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors./liliSupports and maintains a culture of safety and quality./liliTakes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, blood pressure and intake-output./liliMakes rounds with outgoing shift; knows whereabouts of assigned residents./liliMakes rounds with oncoming shift to ensure the unit is left in good condition./liliAdheres to policies and procedures of the facility and the Nursing Department./liliParticipates in socialization activities on the unit. Ability to communicate with the cognitively impaired./liliTurns and positions residents as ordered and/or as needed, making sure no rough surfaces are in direct contact with the body. Lifts and turns with proper and safe body mechanics and with available resources./liliFollows skin care program and takes preventative measures. Checks for reddened areas or skin breakdown and reports to nurse./liliEnsures residents are dressed properly and assists, as necessary. Ensures that used clothing is properly stored in bedside stand or on hangers in closet. Ensures that all residents are clean and dry at all times./liliChecks unit for adequate linen. Folds neatly and arranges linen in linen closet. Cleans linen cart. Provides clean linen and clothing. Makes beds./liliTreats residents and their families with respect and dignity./liliRestrains residents properly, when ordered./liliAccompanies residents to appointments, as directed./liliProvides reality orientation in daily care as needed. Understands stages of dementia./liliPrepares residents for meals, serves and removes food trays and assists with meals or feeds residents, as necessary. Monitors nutritional intake./liliDistributes drinking water and other nourishments to residents. Monitors intake./liliKnowledgeable about the types of isolation, performs general care activities for residents in isolation./liliAnswers residents call lights, anticipates residents needs and makes rounds to assigned residents./liliAssists residents with handling and care of clothing and other personal property (including dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids and prosthetic devices)./liliTransports residents to and from various departments as requested./liliReports and, when appropriate, records any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents. Completes STOP WATCH./liliParticipates in and contributes to interdisciplinary care conferences./liliMust be able to follow directions, both oral and written, and work cooperatively with other staff members./liliMust have the ability to acquire knowledge of and develop skills in basic nursing procedures and simple documenting./liliEstablishes and maintains interpersonal relationship with residents, family members, and other facility staff while assuring confidentiality of resident information./liliAttends in service education programs, as assigned, to learn new treatments, procedures, developmental skills, etc./liliPractices careful, efficient and non wasteful use of supplies and linen and follows established charge procedure for resident charge items./liliMaintains personal health in order to prevent absence from work due to health problems./liliPossesses a genuine interest and concern for geriatric and disabled persons./liliCompletes other duties as assigned./li/ulh3Professional Requirements:/h3ulliAdheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean./liliCompletes annual education requirements./liliMaintains regulatory requirements./liliMaintains resident confidentiality at all times./liliReports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time./liliWears identification while on duty, uses competencies in a timely fashion./liliAttends care plan conferences as scheduled./liliKnows abuse prevention program and understands role./liliUnderstands emergency preparedness program and understands role./liliRepresents the organization in a positive and professional manner./liliActively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities./liliCompiles with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices./liliCommunicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility./li/ulh3Regulatory Requirements:/h3ulliHigh School graduate or equivalent./liliCurrent Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in State of Illinois./liliCurrent Basic Cardiac Life Support certification./li/ulpAny new hires will receive a bonus of $2,000!!! $500 at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months!!!/p/div
