Temporary Teacher Assistant We are hiring in Bronx, NY! Join us at TOTS (These Our Treasures, Inc.) for an exciting career as a Temporary Teacher Assistant.What You'll DoAs a Teacher Assistant for our preschool program you will work under the supervision of the classroom teacher and assist in caring for the physical and emotional needs of students. You will supervise class when the teacher is involved in other activities and attend staffing and departmental in-service as assigned.Your Responsibilities Will Include:Aid the transfer of children to and from buses each day assuring all students are where they need to be at all timesPerform checks of children as they arrive at school to assure physical health and document any issuesWork as a team member with the teacher and other teacher assistants designing developmentally appropriate activities for children to aid holistic developmentPrepare the classroom each day for activities plannedMaintain a clean environment at all times after activitiesParticipate in group activities for studentsWork with individual students on activities specified in their IEPAid children as necessary during meal and snack timesAssure children transfer safely within the building and to the playground and back- maintaining face recognition procedures at all timesUtilize PBIS and social/emotional learning strategies with all childrenHelp children regulate their behavior when necessaryParticipate in meeting and staff development providedYou're a great fit for this role if you have:High School education or GED, Bachelor's Degree preferred.Two (2) years practical experience working with children is preferred.Level I NYS Teacher Assistant Certification.Compensation:$17-22/hr (depending on credentials and experience)Who We AreTOTS- These Our Treasures, Inc.
