Project Estimator (Commercial Construction)

Metric Geo are supporting a top-tier Heavy Civil contractor based in Kansas City. They are searching for a seasoned estimator to join their team and help in the delivering of major grading and utility projects across the region.About the Role:You'll take the lead on building accurate, competitive estimates, analyzing project risks, and coordinating early project planning. This is a high-impact preconstruction role for someone who enjoys fast-paced bidding and shaping winning proposals.Key Responsibilities:Develop detailed estimates for grading, earthwork, and utility projectsReview plans and specs, identify scope and risks, and create bid strategiesCoordinate with vendors and subcontractors; evaluate and compare pricingBuild preliminary schedules and risk assessmentsMaintain organized bid documentation and cost historiesWork closely with PMs and engineering teams to ensure smooth project handoffQualifications:~ Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar~3+ years of heavy civil estimating experience~ Background in grading and wet utilities preferred~ Proficient with estimating software (Agtek/TBC, AutoCAD, HCSS HeavyBid/Bid2Win, Bluebeam).
