Accounting Manager

A well-established law firm in Montgomery is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations and lead a small accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, professional services environment.Position OverviewThe Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing client trust accounts, supporting month-end close processes, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This individual will also supervise a team of 2–3 staff members and play a key role in maintaining strong accounting practices across the firm.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and reconcile client trust accounts, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all transactionsOversee and support month-end close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliationsMonitor and verify proper disbursement of fundsReconcile internal databases and financial recordsSupervise, mentor, and support a small accounting team (2–3 direct reports)Assist with general accounting functions and process improvements as neededEnsure a high level of accuracy by reviewing detailed financial data and identifying discrepanciesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred5+ years of accounting experiencePrior management or supervisory experience requiredStrong understanding of accounting principles and ability to prepare journal entries manuallyAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelHighly organized with strong time management skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to independently investigate and resolve issues
