And this is where you come in.Role SpecificsWe have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Health Nurse to join our medical team supporting workers at a Copper & Gold Mine in Northern British Columbia.This position operates on a 1 week on / 1 week off rotation with 12-hour shifts, working within an on-site medical clinic supporting a large industrial workforce in a remote camp environment.The Occupational Health Nurse plays a key role in supporting worker health, safety, and wellbeing through the delivery of occupational health services, injury assessment and treatment, case management, and preventative health initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with paramedics, site leadership, and Iridia physicians to ensure high-quality care and compliance with occupational health standards.This role offers the opportunity to practice to your full scope in a dynamic industrial environment while making a meaningful impact on the health and safety of workers in BC's resource sector.Key Responsibilities:Provide occupational health nursing services to workers on siteAssess and treat occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnessesProvide emergency first aid and medical response as requiredConduct health assessments and triage workers presenting to the clinicFacilitate referrals to external medical providers when necessarySupport Return-to-Work and Stay-at-Work programs in collaboration with site leadershipMaintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the electronic medical record systemEnsure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and occupational health standardsLead and support occupational health programs such as hearing conservation, health screening, and flu immunization initiativesProvide health education and promote workplace wellness initiativesLiaise with on-call physicians and external healthcare providers when requiredMaintain and safeguard confidentiality of employee health informationAssist with coordination of medical evacuations when requiredCollaborate with safety teams and site leadership to support workplace health and safety initiativesSkills and Qualifications:Current British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) registrationOccupational Health Nursing experience preferredEmergency or acute care nursing experience considered an assetExperience working in industrial, remote, or rural environments preferredValid CPR/AED certificationOFA III certification or willingness to obtainWorking knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and occupational health practicesStrong clinical assessment and decision-making skillsAbility to work independently in a remote industrial settingExcellent communication and organizational skillsExperience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferredAbility to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
