WDAF-TV FOX4 Kansas City is seeking a full-time News Photographer who creates high-quality video content that drives storytelling for broadcast and digital news platforms. This role requires strong storytelling ability, technical expertise, and the ability to work effectively under deadline pressure.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesShoot video and sound for news reports, including live shots, interviews, and breaking news coverageCollaborate with reporters, producers, and assignment desk personnel on story development and executionSet up and execute interviews while capturing strong, relevant b-rollEdit video for broadcast and digital platforms using non-linear editing systems (Adobe Premiere Pro preferred)Operate live transmission equipment (TVU, Dejero, or similar) as assignedAssist with newscast editing as part of cross-trainingMaintain and properly care for station equipment and vehiclesPerform other duties as assignedRequirements & SkillsMinimum of two (2) years of experience operating video recording equipmentTelevision news photography experience preferredProficiency in non-linear editing systems (Adobe Premiere Pro preferred)Strong understanding of visual storytelling, lighting, composition, and audio techniquesAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressureFlexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidaysValid driver’s license with a clean driving recordEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredDegree in broadcasting, journalism, or related field preferredWork Environment & Physical RequirementsAbility to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environmentLift and carry equipment up to 50 poundsWork outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and severe weatherOperate cameras, computers, and vehicles for extended periods
