Project Engineer
Krebs Engineering, Inc. (Krebs) is seeking a motivated Project Engineer/Engineer to join our team in the Newnan, Georgia, office. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of water resources projects while collaborating with experienced engineers, project managers, and CAD professionals in a team-oriented environment.Krebs is a regional, employee-owned, civil engineering firm focused on drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and civil site design. With offices in Newnan (GA), Birmingham (AL), Montgomery (AL), Huntsville (AL), and Daphne (AL), Krebs has delivered professional engineering services throughout the Southeast since its founding in 1926. The firm has built long-standing client relationships—some lasting more than 50 years—while completing hundreds of projects ranging from large, complex regional systems to smaller efforts in rural communities. Position OverviewThe Project Engineer/Engineer will work under the direction of a Project Manager and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role includes both technical design responsibilities and opportunities for client interaction and time on/at job sites.Typical Project TypesDrinking water distribution systems, including pumping and storageWastewater collection systems, including pumping stationsDrinking water and wastewater treatment facilities Stormwater management and drainage systemsRehabilitation and upgrades of existing infrastructure ResponsibilitiesDevelop engineering reports, cost estimates, technical specifications, and design drawingsCoordinate with subconsultants (structural, electrical, mechanical, architectural).Coordinate with project managers, design team members, and CAD techniciansCommunicate with clients to support project goals and ensure high-quality serviceParticipate in field investigations, data collection, and construction review. Qualifications2–8 years of experience in civil or environmental engineeringBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Biosystems EngineeringEngineer-in-Training (EIT) requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtainInterest or experience in water resources (drinking water, wastewater, stormwater)Strong communication and organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS or similar design software preferredGrow with KrebsKrebs Engineering, Inc. offers a supportive, team-oriented environment where employees are empowered to grow professionally and personally.
