Web Application Security Engineer
Overview
In this contract role, you will safeguard internet-facing web applications by configuring and supporting layer 7 security controls, including WAF, rate limiting, bot protection, geolocation, and mTLS. You will apply deep knowledge of HTTP/S, web apps, DNS, and load balancing to ensure secure, reliable access. You’ll work within an inbound web app security engineering team and align with enterprise change management and Jira/Kanban-driven product workflows. This position offers cross-functional impact across complex systems and security controls in a fast-paced environment.

ResponsibilitiesConfigure and support layer 7 web security controls (WAF, rate limiting, bot protection, client lists, geolocation, mTLS, certificates)Leverage expertise in HTTP/S, web applications, and web application security controls to protect internet-facing appsManage DNS, geographic, load balancing and firewall policies related to HTTP/STroubleshoot and identify root causes across multi-layer enterprise systemsOperate within a product model using Jira/Kanban and follow enterprise change management processes
