About The JobArxlight is seeking a talented multi-disciplinary Robotics Hardware Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and improving systems and components. We expect a high level of multi-disciplinary knowledge across mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science. You’ll take ownership of executing of entire projects and collaborate closely with functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.What You'll DoExecute rapid evaluation of engineering concepts in a wide range of fields - electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, manufacturingBuild prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into productionDesign, implementation, and test of complex electro-mechanical systemsHigh level system ownership with large levels of professional autonomyLead design reviews, run analysis, visit vendors, define and execute hardware test plansSupport critical hardware demonstrations with customers as neededTravel to test sites as neededUse first principles physics as a basis for every decisionWear many hatsRequired QualificationsBS, MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering, or Software Engineering, or related fieldExperience in an immersive technical project (collegiate project teams or professional settings)Experience in developing complex eletro-mechanical systems, such as robots, UAVs, wearables, high power, electric propulsion, etcAbility to read, interpret, and manipulate block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts. Strong command of engineering first principlesPreferred QualificationsMultiple degrees or minors in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering, or Software Engineering, or related fieldExperience in Mechanical CAD (Solidworks, NX, Fusion 360, etc)Experience in Electrical CAD (Altium, KiCad, etc)Hands-on prototyping experience (3D printing, machining, soldering, board assembly, harnessing)Strong organizational skillsFamiliarity with microcontrollers, power conversion and system integrationOutstanding leadership and interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with designing for rugged environmentsExperience in characterizing circuits at both schematic and board levelFamiliarity with wireless communication protocolsExperience with microcontroller wired communication protocols (USB, MIPI CSI2, SPI, I2C, CAN, CANFD, UART/RS232/RS422/RS485)Experience with motor and servo drive (BLDC/Brushed motor controller design, servo control systems)Practical experience with electrical engineering tools (Oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters)Compensation Range: $100K - $200K
