Welcome to INNIO!We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Development Engineer to join our team in Waukesha, WI. If you're an experienced mechanical engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, leading technical programs, and shaping the future of engine systems, this role puts you at the center of innovation. You'll own major design initiatives, guide cross-functional development, and mentor engineers while working on products that power critical industries around the world.What You'll Do: As a Lead Mechanical Development Engineer, you'll take full technical ownership of advanced engine component and system development. Your work will span concept creation, design execution, validation, and field performance improvement. In this role, you will:Lead high-impact engineering programsDefine and develop technical requirements for complex engine components and systems.Drive multiple development projects using DFSS, DFR, CTQs, and DFMEA to ensure robust, reliable designsBuild and execute Design Validation Plans (DVP&R) using world-class test facilities and targeted field testingSolve meaningful engineering challengesPerform analytical studies, calculations, and simulation requirements to guide design decisionsLead root-cause investigations and cross-functional problem-solving effortsSupport prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting for both new and existing productsBe a technical leader and mentorGuide and develop engineers in design, drafting, and engineering best practicesCollaborate closely with manufacturing, supply chain, applications, service, marketing, and suppliersEnsure smooth execution of ECOs and business system processesWhat You'll Bring:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Design TechnologyAt least 8 years of mechanical design or development experience with reciprocating internal combustion engines, engine-driven equipment, or similar industrial products.What Will Make You Stand Out:Strong command of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DVA toolsExperience with engine performance, FEA/simulation, testing, and mechanical developmentKnowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, quality tools (ISO, DFMEA, DFSS, DFR), and assembly methodsLeadership experience in new product development and current product supportHands-on experience with rapid prototypingExcellent communication skills and comfort working in a global engineering environmentAbility to manage multiple projects with clarity, structure, and technical rigorAdditional Details:Location: Waukesha, WIHybrid Work Schedule: Generally 3 days onsite (Mon/Wed/Thu) and 2 days working offsite (Mon/Fri).
