Job Description
This position requires a High School Diploma/GED, candidates must be 21 years of age, and have a VALID Driver's License, and be able to pass a background check, and drug test. This Youth Worker Position gives you an opportunity to potentially change a child's life by building a positive adult to youth relationship, modeling that there is someone who cares.It involves 24 hour supervision (split between 3 shifts, currently hiring females only for 3pm-11pm & 11pm-7am) of youth ranging from ages 12-17 years of age. These youth have faced some form of abuse or neglect directly or indirectly and have been placed into Foster Care. These youth are in need of supportive and patient caregivers who are willing to love, nurture, guide and most importantly build long-lasting relationships. These Youth attend the local schools, complete chores, homework, participate in recreational activities, interact with their families and the Department of Family and Protective Services, etc. The Youth Worker's main role is interacting with the youth in a therapeutic manner, supervising the youth, conducting walkthroughs every 15 minutes, building positive and appropriate relationships with them, and encourage them to complete the rules of the program (chores, attending school, etc.) and assist them by providing insight to becoming law abiding, healthy, young adults. These youth receive treatment services, counseling, substance abuse treatment, intervention and other resources.
