Program Financial Analyst IV

Job DescriptionThe Program Financial Analyst IV serves as the lead program finance partner for the division, based in Carlsbad. In collaboration with the Program Management Office and cross-functional leaders, this role is responsible for developing detailed cost estimates, driving financial rigor, and analyzing overall program financial performance.ResponsibilitiesSupport program managers in forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing key program financial metrics (Orders, Revenue, Gross Margin, Cash) with regular reporting to senior leadershipDevelop, maintain, and analyze Estimates at Complete (EACs), including tracking incurred costs and bottom‑up, time‑phased estimates to completeServe as a subject matter expert on program finance processes, tools, and procedures; identify financial risks and opportunities and drive mitigation actionsProvide clear, timely variance analysis against financial plans and forecastsBuild and maintain strong partnerships with Program Management, Supply Chain, Accounting, Operations, and Engineering to support effective program execution and issue resolutionDevelop time-phased program baselines to track cost and schedule across a portfolio of programsUtilize data collection and reporting systems to generate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting packages for internal and external stakeholdersSupport annual planning and forecasting cycles, including revenue, margin, and cost developmentContribute to proposal development, fact finding, audits, and negotiations as requiredMentor junior analysts by reviewing work products, sharing best practices and providing guidance on policies and proceduresQualificationsBachelor's Degree Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related fieldMinimum eight (8) years of experience in accounting or financial analysis with at least four (4) years in cost accounting or program finance.OR (12) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors DegreeOR (6) years of experience may be considered w/ a Masters DegreeOR (3) years of experience may be considered w/ a PhDExcellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred, but not required)About Frontgrade ABOUT US At Frontgrade, we build mission-critical electronics that perform without compromise in the world’s most demanding environments, from deep space to national defense.
