Operations/Underwriting Manager – Commercial Auto
Job Description: Overseeing and managing daily business operations to ensure efficiency, quality, accuracy, customer service, and cost effectivenessAssisting with the managing of underwriting operations, policy executionDeveloping, implementing, and improving operational policies and procedures and workflows for the Public Auto DepartmentManaging the Policy Services Department responsible for all policy related functionsEnsure internal and external compliance with company policies, carrier underwriting authority, guidelines and regulatory requirementsMaintain operational quality controlsRequirements: Bachelor's degree or appropriate insurance designationFive years of experience in underwriting and marketing of new accountsMust be licensed in corresponding areas of insuranceGood interpersonal skills are essential and an ability to communicate and influence at all levelsClear and consistent leadership of staffConcentrate on the development of a strong and profitable branch officeMust be able to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policiesAbility to understand the client's needs and have knowledge of the risk profiles associatedRecognize new trends and developments in the insurance industry and be able to incorporate that into your strategyAbilities must include preparing submissions for markets and securing quotesAbility to develop, foster, and maintain an excellent working relationship with agenciesMust possess and maintain current knowledge of the insurance industryGood written and verbal skillsMaintain travel schedule depending on the needs of clients, Agents, and new businessAbility to work extended hours when necessaryBenefits: Access to medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and AD&D insuranceTax-advantaged savings accounts401(k) plan with company matchGenerous paid time off programs, including company holidays, vacation and sick days, new parent leavePotential eligibility for restricted stock units and/or a deferred compensation plan
