Early Head Start Health and Nutrition Manager

This leadership role plays a vital part in ensuring compliance, promoting wellness, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the program.Requirements & ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, CACFP requirements, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulationsLead and support health, safety, and nutrition systems across the Early Head Start programCollaborate with Family Educators and classroom staff to address child health concerns through coaching and co-visitsServe as the primary liaison with medical, dental, mental health, and nutrition providersMaintain and manage health records, ensuring children have access to continuous care (medical, dental, immunizations)Oversee CACFP operations, including compliance, staff supervision, and reimbursement processesProvide CPR/First Aid certification training for staffConduct screenings (hearing, vision, lead testing) as neededOrganize and lead the Health and Mental Health Services Advisory Committee (HMHSAC)Promote prenatal health and breastfeeding education for families and staffSupervise kitchen staff and support nutrition program operationsMonitor ChildPlus data and ensure accurate reporting and complianceParticipate in hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff developmentCollaborate with leadership to support program goals, compliance, and continuous improvementAddress family concerns related to health, safety, and nutritionComplete required documentation, reporting, and attend meetings and trainingsQualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Health or a closely related fieldMinimum of 2 years of supervisory experienceCPR and First Aid Instructor certificationServe Safe certification (must be current)Experience with lead and HgB/HcT testing and OAE screeningsStrong knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and CACFPIntermediate computer proficiency and experience with office softwareStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsPreferred:Master’s degree in Health or related field2+ years of direct supervisory experienceBilingual in English/Spanish preferredScheduleMonday - Friday8:00 AM - 4:30 PMFull-time, year-round positionBenefitsKids on the Move offers a competitive benefits package, including:Health, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysRetirement plan optionsProfessional development and training opportunitiesSupportive, mission-driven work environmentIf you are a dedicated leader with a passion for promoting health, safety, and well-being in early childhood programs, we invite you to join our team.
