On behalf of our manufacturing client, Procom is searching for a Quality Engineer for a 6 month contract. This position is an onsite position at our client's Princeton, Illinois office.Quality Engineer - Job Description:We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to enhance our quality systems, develop supplier relationships, and provide timely feedback to customers. This role involves leading problem-solving initiatives, driving continuous improvement efforts, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems.Quality Engineer - Responsibilities:• Lead problem solving, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions for process-related concerns using statistical tools.• Participate in continuous improvement activities such as 5S, Rapid Improvement Events, Six Sigma, and lean methodology.• Develop and provide training to build quality awareness.• Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining the quality management system.• Interface with Suppliers, Engineering, and Operations to provide feedback and data for products and processes.• Lead and support Quality Technicians to ensure compliance with quality management system requirements.• Develop and maintain manufacturing audit strategies for processes, products, and systems.• Issue, track, and verify root cause solutions of corrective actions.• Assist in vendor surveillance of purchased materials, finished parts, and processes.• Determine inspection and test equipment required to evaluate product quality and reliability.• Lead and manage projects to improve cost and quality of manufacturing processes, products, and purchased components.Quality Engineer - Mandatory Skills:• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field.• 3+ years of quality and engineering or related experience in a manufacturing environment.• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.• Strong organization and attention to detail skills.• Strong written and oral communication skills.• Skilled in team building and experience in working with cross-functional teams.• Understanding of applicable computer systems such as Microsoft Office.Quality Engineer - Nice-to-Have Skills:• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer Certification.• Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO, or related experience.• Supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment.• Experience in developing suppliers.
