Mechanical Assembler

Job Summary: Thinkom Solutions is looking for qualified applicants to work with a team in the Antenna Assembly area to build various assemblies that go into our world class antenna systems. Products will include antennas subassemblies and top-level assemblies, and electronic assemblies that are part of a mobile or stationary antenna ground terminal.  Be part of a growing team in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing atmosphere as we develop new products for the communication market in both military and commercial markets. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:  Read and follow instructions, such as work orders, diagrams, method sheets and route sheets to determine materials needed and sequence of assembly. Cleaning of parts, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Perform various assembly processes, including bonding parts with structural film adhesives soldering techniques. Properly measure, mix ands apply various liquid adhesives. Use scales, torque tools and measurement instruments. Ensure tools are clean, maintained and calibrated. Maintain and neat and tidy work area. Notify supervisor or leads if parts do not meet specifications. Follow all department safety procedures and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment required. Crimp or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place using hand tools, presses, machines and other types of equipment. Perform any combination of tasks to route  and tie wires used in electrical and electronic equipment or systems. Follow ESD precautions during basic electronic assembly. May support antenna (and/or related LRUs/components) testing requirements. Other miscellaneous tasks to support Production as required.                        Skills and/or Experience Needed:                                                                                                        Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Able to read and understand blueprints, manufacturing planning, diagrams and similar shop/manufacturing related paperwork. Working in a controlled, FOD free environment.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Language Skills: Must be able to read and understand English Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally. Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow instructions and perform necessary duties. Must be able to verify work completed is per instructions given.       Additional Skills and Experience Preferred (Not Required): Experienced with hand tools and assembly fixtures Able to use torque wrenches and calipers. Able to use scales and measurement instruments. Able to use computer and laptop Windows interface system.  Physical Demands & Other:  No failed drug tests or drug tests refusals within the previous two years. This position is primarily a standing position. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, and bend. May occasionally lift and/or move up parts or boxes up to 50 pounds. May be subjected to occasional irregular or extended work hours. Must be able to work in an environment that may be subject to occasional loud noises, hazardous materials and chemicals.  Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive motion of right and left hands and arms. Good manual dexterity, able to pick up small parts and complete precision assembly processes.
