Structural Engineer – Contract-to-Hire Location: Houston, TX Schedule: Hybrid/Remote Flexibility Available Our client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Houston, TX. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality structural engineering solutions for complex industrial and commercial projects. In this role, you will contribute to structural analysis and design efforts, collaborate closely with engineers and designers across disciplines, and play a key role in developing innovative and practical structural solutions. Key Responsibilities Perform structural engineering analysis and design with minimal supervision Develop structural concepts and execute detailed engineering calculations and designs Apply sound engineering judgment in evaluating and adapting engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria Conduct lateral analysis and design for wind and seismic loading in accordance with applicable building codes Coordinate with structural designers and other engineering disciplines to ensure design integration and project success Prepare, review, and check calculations, drawings, and design documentation Perform calculation checks and quality reviews of engineering work completed by peers Manage assigned scope of work to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations Identify scope changes and communicate impacts to project leadership Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers Support continuous improvement initiatives, workflows, and emerging engineering technologies Participate in occasional field walks and site visits as required Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license required Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience Strong knowledge of U.S. building codes including: IBC ASCE 7 ACI AISC Experience with structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures Proficiency with structural engineering software and tools including: STAAD Navisworks Bluebeam Strong understanding of lateral systems, wind design, and seismic provisions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Experience leading small engineering teams or serving as a lead engineer on projects Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis Structural Engineer (SE) license Experience supporting semiconductor, industrial, or manufacturing facility projects Additional experience with advanced structural analysis and coordination tools Aspen Technical StaffingCELEBRATING 25 YEARS ~2001-2026~We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
