Job Details:Position DescriptionPosition Title: Directed loaderPlant: JoslinReports to: Material Handling Shipping SupervisorGeneral Function:Must be able to step up, figure, and load all trucks by using the information provided on the shipping order and count sheet.This includes:Manual stacking of boxes that range from 30 – 105 lbs onto trailers. Boxes can be stacked 3-9 boxes high on the floor and/or pallets. Loading the right trailer in the right door. Loading the trailer properly within the weight requirements of the carrier (1000-1500 lbs light in the nose, etc.) Properly scan each pallet to the location it is going. Properly marking all stops. Proper placement of V-meats, Kidneys, Trim, etc, as needed. Properly marking the right number of boxes on each stop, proper and correct amount of boxes on finished trailer. Using proper style of loading pattern and be able to stay within Q.A. stacking restrictions. Proper use of all required supplies (pallets, export stamps, stop stickers, etc). Complete manual count sheet in a neat legible way according to HACCP and Material Handling guidelines and turn into the Dock Clerk. Seal load after is okayed by clerk. Place seals on correct doors and make sure its properly sealed Must be able to obtain a Forklift License by passing a written test and operating a forklift in a safe and efficient manner. Safe operation of a forklift. Follow forklift issue procedures. Follow maintenance check procedures. Prompt and efficient handling of palletized products. Timely loading. No damaged to palletized product or equipment, report damage to Supervisor immediately.Duties And ResponsibilitiesUses and wears ALL safety equipment (sturdy slip-resistant shoes, hard hat, ear protection, safety glasses, reflective vest, warm clothing, cotton gloves, ect.) Unloading of trailer, if needed, doing weight shifts and weight take-offs, and manual box movement. Following proper loading requirements to prevent damage to products (which include pallets) Be responsible for cleanliness and orderliness of work area, including all of shipping dock area inside and out). Scan pallets as you drive and place them into the correct position they are scanned to. Fill out stacker sheets correctly and accurately. Add load up and turn into billing clerk. Seal all trailers correctly and take pictures of all loads that require them. Minimum requirements to qualify as a Joslin Box Load. Report all unsafe acts and conditions to a supervisor immediately. Report all pain, soreness, or discomfort to a supervisor immediately. Report all accidents to a supervisor immediately. Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner. Follow glad lock policies when loading trailers. Must have a spotter when going outside to put glad locks or any other tasks.PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY MANAGEMENT**********************This is a C Shift position.
