Field Service Technician -
A family-owned and operated energy systems company is seeking an energetic, self-motivated Journeyman Field Service Technician with strong experience servicing diesel engines and power generation equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with major engine platforms such as Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU, and John Deere. Experience with generator systems from manufacturers such as Katolight, Generac, Gillette, MQ, Blue Star, and Cummins is a plus.
Candidates with strong diesel engine backgrounds but limited power generation exposure are encouraged to apply, as on-the-job training is available for qualified engine technicians transitioning into the power generation field.

Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and power generation systems
Demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and repairing system components
Utilize manufacturer service manuals, parts documentation, and schematics
Assist in preparing accurate repair estimates and quotes
Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal teams
Work independently while maintaining efficiency and quality standards
Maintain accurate service documentation and job records
Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours service support
Perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, and crawling as required
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of diesel engine repair experience
Strong hands-on experience with Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU, and/or John Deere engines
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency using service manuals and diagnostic documentation
Must possess a complete set of tools up to " drive
Valid driver's license required
Ability to lift at least 75 lbs and carry a minimum of 50 lbs
Willingness to be on-call 24/7 as part of a rotating schedule
Position Details:
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday Friday, 8-hour shifts; overtime and weekends as needed
Expected Hours: 40 60 hours per week
Work Location: In-person / Field-based
