Senior Accountant (Austin)

Job Title: Senior AccountantLocation: South Austin, TX (In Office)Job Type: Contract to HireCompensation: $40-45/hrWe are seeking a hands-on Accounting Specialist to serve as the primary in-house accounting professional for a growing manufacturing startup. This role will own day-to-day accounting operations while supporting broader operational and administrative functions across the business. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable wearing many hats in a fast-paced startup environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the full procure-to-pay (P2P) process, including purchase order tracking, vendor invoices, approvals, and payment processingManage accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsPerform coding and entry of accounting transactions into the ERP/accounting systemMaintain vendor records and manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely communication and issue resolutionAssist with balance sheet reconciliations and identify discrepancies or accounting issues requiring correctionReview financial data for accuracy and escalate errors, inconsistencies, or unusual activity to the outsourced CPA firm and fractional CFOSupport month-end close activities and general ledger maintenanceAssist with inventory accounting and collaborate with warehouse staff to reconcile inventory-related transactionsProcess and track prepaid inventory deposits and vendor prepaymentsSupport landed cost functionality, including allocation of freight, duties, and related costs into inventory valuationAssist in improving accounting workflows, internal controls, and operational processes as the company scalesSupport ad hoc operational, reporting, and administrative projects as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based environmentsStrong understanding of AP/AR, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliationsExperience working with inventory accounting and procure-to-pay processesFamiliarity with landed cost accounting and prepaid inventory transactions is highly preferredComfortable working independently in a startup or small-company environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to identify accounting discrepanciesEffective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations and external accounting partnersProficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysisExperience with ERP or accounting systems preferredPreferred TraitsSelf-starter with a problem-solving mindsetAdaptable and comfortable handling evolving responsibilitiesOrganized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasksCollaborative and service-oriented approach with vendors and internal teamsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive compensation based on experienceOpportunity to play a key role in building accounting processes within a growing companyExposure to operational finance, manufacturing accounting, and startup scaling initiativesAddison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
