Domestic Violence Shelter Staff

Position Summary:The Domestic Violence Shelter Staff will provide day-to-day management of the shelter including daily living scheduling, oversight of donations and food shopping when Shelter Manager is offsite.Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain and enforce program guidelines to provide a safe and supportive environment where victims can healComplete initial intake with residents upon entry to the emergency shelterOrient new residents to the program and facilityComplete bed bug protocol with new residentsEnsure facilities are ready for new residents and all needs are met to include any supplies requiredAddress any needs of residentsAnswer hotline callsConducts Room checks as needed to ensure residents are not in possession of contrabandEnforces rules and regulations of the residenceMonitor facility and report repairs as neededAssist in skill building activitiesProvide ongoing information during staffing regarding individual issues and concernsMaintain a supportive, professional relationship with all staff and volunteersOversight of volunteers when working at the shelter facilityOther duties as assignedMinimum Education and Experience:The Shelter Manager will have a minimum High School Diploma, with some college preferred.Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence, non-profit or shelter settingsMust have a valid driver's license, driver's insurance and pass all background checksOuachita Children, Youth, and Family Services is a nationally accredited organization through the Council on Accreditation (COA).
