Senior Estimator

Job DescriptionChief EstimatorPublic works General Contractor is seeking a senior estimator with a minimum of 10 years’ experience.The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task and produce company estimates in a timely, accurate and professional manner.The ideal candidate will be expected to demonstrate a consistent methodology for preparing estimates.We have an immediate opening for an honest, hardworking, motivated, multi-tasking team player who wants a rewarding, challenging and fulfilling career.Skills required include the ability to:Manage the estimating process by: Reading and analyzing blue prints Reading, reviewing and summarizing all general conditions, special conditions, supplemental requirements and addendum Developing accurate scopes of work Conducting detailed take-offs Soliciting subcontractors for bids and analyzing proposals prior to submissions Assure bids are received in time to qualify and integrate into the bid package Preparing bid submittal packages and verifying compliance to the bid documents Develop and oversee estimates in Computer Estimating Program Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc. as requiredDuties may also include: Budgeting and monitoring budgets Purchasing and dealing with vendors Leveling of various subcontractors proposals Soliciting and buying out of various subcontractor packages Tracking site requirements Reviewing scope of any changes to the contract documents post bid Working directly with clients Develop Project Progress SchedulesWork experience requirements: 10 or more years estimating with strength in Public Works and commercial experience. High degree of computer literacy, especially with Excel, Word and Estimating softwareEducation Requirements: Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
