PM Press Operator
Summary: Raw Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, or tending to the Press. Responsible for accurately adjusting settings on Press as needed for product run. Provides day-to-day assistance to Supervisor/Management in meeting production and quality requirements. Responsible for understanding Daily’s GMP’s and safety policies. Additionally, rotates job stations within Raw department.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:Set up, operate, or tend to PressEquipment set up, Pre-Operational Checklist, select programs, adjust settings, and breakdown, as neededAccurately adjusts settings as needed for product runGathers necessary supplies and tools for Press operationMaintains machines at centerline settings and completes all CIL (clean, inspect, and lube) tasks.Understand bacon specification requirements to ensure qualityWork at a pace consistent with line speedsKeep accurate records as neededMaintain accurate countsMinimize scrap at all timesFollow procedures outlined by Department Supervisor/Department LeadFollow Daily’s attendance and punctuality rulesFollow Daily’s Good Manufacturing ProcessesFollow Daily’s Safety guidelines as outlined in Safety HandbookRotates job stations within Raw DepartmentMay be required to assist in other areas based on business needPerform other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Daily’s business objectivesQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Capability of working with and calculating percentagesReasoning AbilityMust consistently follow company rules and procedures and ensure consistency with product specificationsAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferredAble to adhere to specificationsPhysical DemandsMust be willing and able to handle raw productRegularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or push up to 75 lbsStanding and walking for up to 10 hours a day on concrete and wet surfacesSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusWork EnvironmentTemperature variations – average of 40 degrees. Exposure to noise above 85 dbl (hearing protection required).Work ScheduleThe hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Must be available to work as scheduled.
