Akkodis is seeking a for a Computer Numerical Control Programmer at Location: Torrance, CA for a contract Duration: 12+Months. Pay Range: $40/h- $50/h; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.Must Haves:Experience on 5 axis milling and turning NC programming.Familiar with NX programming software.Experience with cutting tool selection and improvements.Job SummaryThe NC Programmer supports Aerospace manufacturing operations in Torrance by developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for complex aerospace components. The role works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Machinists, Quality, and Tooling to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate, modify, and optimize NC/CNC programs for multi axis machining centers (3 , 4 , and 5 axis) using CAD/CAM softwareInterpret engineering drawings, models, GD&T, and specifications to generate accurate machining instructionsSupport machining of aerospace grade materials (aluminum, steel, stainless, Inconel, titanium, etc.)Work with Manufacturing Engineers and Machinists to resolve process, tooling, and quality issuesValidate programs through simulations, prove outs, and first article supportEnsure compliance with, AS9100, FAA, and customer quality requirementsMaintain NC documentation, revision control, and standard work instructionsDrive continuous improvement initiatives related to cycle time, cost, quality, and safetyRequired QualificationsAssociate degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Machining, or EngineeringDemonstrated experience as an NC/CNC Programmer in a manufacturing environmentProficiency with CAD/CAM programming tools (commonly NX, Mastercam, or similar)Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, feeds & speedsAbility to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&TPreferred QualificationsAerospace manufacturing experienceExperience programming 5 axis CNC machinesFamiliarity with or other regulated aerospace environmentsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma principlesExperience supporting first article inspection (FAI) processesWork EnvironmentOn site manufacturing and engineering support at the Torrance, CA at Aerospace facilityCollaboration with machinists, quality engineers, tooling, and production teamsMay support both prototype and production programsIf you feel this is not something that you are currently interested in but know of someone who might be, please share the details with them or let me know their details so I can reach out to them!
