📍 High Point, NC | SurveyingStart Your Career in the FieldFEI is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator to join our land development surveying team. This is a hands-on, entry-level position designed for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and want to build a long-term career in surveying.You’ll work alongside experienced Survey Party Chiefs, gaining real-world experience with equipment, field operations, and job-site coordination—all while contributing to projects that shape communities.What You’ll DoSupport Field OperationsAssist the Survey Party Chief with daily surveying activitiesWork as part of a field crew to keep projects moving efficientlyFollow direction and contribute to a safe, productive work environmentLearn the Trade Gain experience with:Boundary, topographic, and control surveysMortgage and as-built surveysConstruction staking and layoutLearn proper surveying methods, measurements, and field proceduresOperate survey equipment under supervision and assist with maintenanceStay Organized & AccurateHelp prepare tools and supplies before heading to job sitesRecord clear and accurate field notes and observationsIdentify and communicate any data quality or safety concernsComplete assigned tasks with attention to detail and efficiencyWhat You BringHigh school diplomaWillingness to work outdoors in varying weather and terrainAbility to follow direction and work as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and basic problem-solving skillsValid driver’s license (or ability to obtain one)Preferred ExperienceExposure to surveying or construction environmentsFamiliarity with Topcon equipmentBasic computer skills for time and expense reportingInterest in growing into roles such as Survey Technician or Party ChiefWork Environment & ScheduleField-based role with work in varying terrain and weather conditionsMonday–Friday schedule, with occasional weekends or travel as neededWhat Success Looks LikeReliability and strong work ethicClear communication with crew members and supervisorsAttention to detail and willingness to learnConsistent, safe, and efficient field performancePhysical RequirementsThis Role Requires The Ability ToWalk and work across varied terrain for extended periodsLift and carry survey equipmentOperate instruments outdoors in different weather conditionsMaintain stamina throughout the workdayCommunicate clearly with team membersAdditional InformationPre-employment drug screening required; subject to random testing per job site requirementsApplicants must be authorized to work full-time in the U.S.FEI does not provide visa sponsorship at this timeDirect applicants only—no recruiter submissionsIf you’re ready to get outside, learn a skilled trade, and build a career in surveying, we encourage you to apply.
