SENIOR JAVA + ANGULAR DEVELOPER – WCAG/ADA – W2 ONLYSDVO Technology Services, Inc. is recruiting for two long-term New York State Senior Software Developer opportunities supporting the NYS Department of Labor.This posting is intentionally targeted toward experienced Java/Angular developers with hands-on web accessibility development experience.LOCATION• Albany, NY – Harriman State Office Campus, Building 12• Onsite from Day 1• Approximately 30-month engagementCOMPENSATION• $49–$50/hour W-2• W-2 ONLY for this posting• No C2C• No C2H• No third-party employer arrangements• No vendor-to-vendor submissionsStaffing agencies, bench-sales representatives, recruiters submitting candidates, and third-party employers should not apply.CORE EXPERIENCECandidates should have:• At least 5 years / 60 months of paid professional Software Developer experience• At least 5 years / 60 months developing Java-based multi-tier applications using Java/J2EE and/or Spring Boot• Professional Angular development experience building user interfaces and reusable components• Professional experience personally developing Angular applications specifically required to meet ADA and/or WCAG accessibility standards• REST and/or SOAP services, backend business services, batch processing, and application integrations• SQL and relational database development using Hibernate, JPA, DB2, or comparable technologies• GitHub/GitLab and CI/CD pipelines• Enterprise cloud experience such as GCP, AWS, or Azure• Experience with application design, modernization, technical debt, enhancement roadmaps, and/or system documentationACCESSIBILITY EXPERIENCE – PLEASE READ CAREFULLYWe are specifically seeking developers who have personally written Angular application code subject to ADA and/or WCAG accessibility requirements.Examples may include:• WCAG 2.0 / 2.1 / 2.2• Section 508• ARIA implementation• Keyboard navigation and focus management• Accessible forms and validation• Screen-reader compatibility• Color contrast and semantic markup• Accessibility remediation• Development using or validating with tools such as axe, Lighthouse, NVDA, or JAWSFor this targeted posting:• General Angular development alone is not Angular accessibility experience.• React accessibility experience alone is not the Angular experience we are seeking.• Accessibility QA/testing without personally developing the Angular application is not sufficient.• Simply listing “WCAG” or “accessibility” in a skills section is not sufficient.Candidates should be able to identify the employer/client, project, dates, accessibility standard, and work personally performed.EMPLOYMENT / WORK AUTHORIZATIONThis posting is for a direct W-2 engagement with SDVO Technology Services, Inc.C2C, C2H, third-party employer arrangements, and vendor-to-vendor submissions will not be considered for this posting.Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.ABOUT THE STATE QUALIFICATION PROCESSThese positions are part of the New York State HBITS program.
